Indiana Osteopathic Association Names New Executive Director


Tabitha ArnettINDIANAPOLIS, December 12, 2017 – The Indiana Osteopathic Association (IOA) announced on December 9 that it has named Tabitha Arnett, IOM, CAE, as Executive Director effective January 1, 2018.

Arnett, a 15-year veteran in association management, holds a bachelor’s degree in public health and a master’s degree in education from Indiana University. In 2009, Arnett received the Certified As-sociation Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives. Arnett was also awarded the Institute for Organization Management (IOM) graduate recognition for completing a comprehensive course of study in nonprofit management through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Institute for Organization Management program.

She most recently served as Executive Director of the Indiana Psychological Association since 2013. Prior to her role with the psychological association, she worked for the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance for over eleven years and Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis for six years.

“The Indiana Osteopathic Association is pleased to announce that Tabitha Arnett, CAE, will be joining our team as its new Executive Director,” says Dr. Mark Cantieri, D.O., IOA President. “Tabitha brings a wealth of experience to the IOA with her expertise in membership development, organizational leadership, communication and educational programming. At this time of great growth of the osteopathic profession in the state of Indiana Ms. Arnett will be a vital asset in the growth of our profession and its visibility both within the state and nationally.”

As IOA Executive Director, Tabitha Arnett will be responsible for managing the association, fundraising, and implementing the IOA’s strategic agenda, which supports the organization’s members and its commitment to the quality of care of the people of Indiana.

“The IOA advocates for osteopathic physicians and the patients they serve,” Arnett said. “I am thrilled and honored to serve the Indiana Osteopathic Association as their new Executive Director. I look forward to working with an outstanding group of caring and dedicated osteopathic physicians throughout Indiana.”

The mission of the Indiana Osteopathic Association shall be to serve the osteopathic physicians (D.O.s) of Indiana by providing quality continuing medical education, to work with the American Osteopathic Association to create a positive public and legislative awareness about osteopathic medicine, and to provide a forum for practicing D.O.s to initiate and implement changes that improve quality of care to the people of Indiana.
