IOA Job Opening: Member Engagement Coordinator

The Indiana Osteopathic Association is the professional home and advocate for all physicians and students whose objective is to practice osteopathically. It is one of the oldest state osteopathic associations in the nation. Founded in 1899, the association serves over 1,500 osteopathic physicians and 600 osteopathic medical students across the state of Indiana.

We are excited to add the position of Member Engagement Coordinator to our team!

You’ll love working with us because:

  • Our leaders recognize the downward trend of association membership and are committed to trying fresh, innovative methods for growing membership, increasing participation and engagement, and capturing the interest of collegiate and early career professionals.
  • We’re a small staff, allowing us to respond to individual staff needs in a way large organizations cannot.

Your role with us:

Reporting to our Executive Director, and in collaboration with our Office Manager/Manager of CME Programs, you will be responsible for the member experience at IOA and other state osteopathic groups supported by IOA. Because this is a new position, you will be expanding on existing processes and putting systems into place to ensure the success of this role within the organization. A full job description will be provided when you are invited to interview for this position.

You should consider joining us if you’re good at:

  • Engaging collegiate and early career members and volunteers
  • Supporting volunteer and staff leaders to develop and execute goals
  • Interpreting goals into actionable objectives and tactics
  • Meeting new people, making connections, and developing positive, trusting relationships
  • Engaging people through social media and other communication channels
  • Identifying opportunities and implementing new ideas that benefit our members and serve them well

We’d like you to have:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • An interest in medicine/medical professions
  • Familiarity with membership-based organizations
  • Experience as a volunteer for a membership-based organization
  • Experience working within established systems and workflows
  • Proficiency with MS Office and data entry

It would be even better if you have:

  • A master’s degree
  • Experience working with or around medical professionals
  • Experience working at a membership-based organization
  • Experience staffing a volunteer committee
  • Experience developing and refining processes and setting up systems and workflows
  • Proficiency in database management, especially MemberClicks
