On February 21st , a majority of Democrats walked off the floor of the House and began camping out in a hotel in Urbana, IL. They finally returned on March 28th to continue business. The House was not able to vote for over a month, and the Senate only had a few healthcare bills they could consider that were passed on for consideration from the House. At press time, it remains to be seen how much work on healthcare legislation the General Assembly can finish before April 29th. The General Assembly is insistent on finishing their business by then, leaving very little time to accomplish anything but the budget.
More information on what final healthcare legislation was passed and signed by the Governor Is forthcoming.
