MOTYKA DANNIN OSTEOPATHIC EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
The Arthur E. Dannin Osteopathic Educational Foundation was formed at the initiative of the Auxiliary (now Advocates) to the Indiana Osteopathic Association in memory of Arthur E. Dannin, D.O., a Frankfort family practitioner who had worked tirelessly for student scholarships during his lifetime.
In February 2007, the Foundation board amended the bylaws to rename itself the Motyka Dannin Osteopathic Educational Foundation (Motyka Dannin Foundation). Daniel J. Motyka, D.O., was a beloved husband, father, physician and educator. This change allows us to honor both physicians through an enduring program to help future D.O.s.
- Students from Indiana in their first or second year of medical school are eligible to apply.
- Loans are forgiven if the student returns to practice in Indiana following his or her training.
Since the Motyka Dannin Foundation began making forgivable loans in 1990-91, 55 students from Indiana have been granted loans. Of these, 19 have received loans in both their first and second years of osteopathic medical school. Total loans to date have been $77,500. We would like to lend that much and more each year.
Contributions to the Motyka Dannin Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, are tax deductible.
